Local affordable community support services that help people continue to live in their own homes

Welcome to the Eastern Sydney Home and Community Care Website

Home and Community Care (HACC) is a group of support services provided in the local community to:

  • Frail aged people
  • People with disabilities
  • And the people who care for them

These services assist those people listed above, who are having difficulties carrying out normal living tasks such as getting their meals, cleaning their house or getting medical attention. See Service types for the full list of services available.

The purpose of these services is to prevent frail aged or people with disabilities from having to enter a hostel or nursing home before it becomes necessary, because they cannot manage tasks of daily living. People are provided with the amount and type of available services that best meet their needs

The government provides funding to a range of organisations to provide HACC services, such as community services, local government, churches or private services.

The HACC services in this website cover the Eastern Sydney Area, including the Local Government Areas of:

  • City of Sydney
  • Waverley
  • Woollahra
  • Randwick
  • Botany
There are HACC services in other areas throughout Australia.
