Local affordable community support services that help people continue to live in their own homes

Volunteers

Volunteers provide a lot of the work done by several Home and Community Care (HACC) services. Meals on Wheels are delivered by volunteers and social support is provided by home visitors from Neighbour Aid Services.

The work of volunteers is highly valued because they bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and compassion to caring for others.

The HACC services that work with volunteers make them very welcome and provide training, orientation, ongoing support and a rewarding experience! Volunteers are matched to the kind of work they find most suitable and enjoyable.

Volunteer work can involve carrying out a daily task for a frail aged person or a person with a disability; other work may involve a regular phone call.
